Do you really know Him?

The Bible tells us that a person who knows God and is saved from their sins does not live in sin any longer and does not make excuses for their sins.

Today’s “gospel” gives too many excuses for folks to continue on living in sin under the notion that they can do so because grace abounds. This is a lie rooted in Hell. This is lie that is embraced by humanism and not true Christianity.

Humanism says “you are only human” and that essentially because of this you are bound to sin. Humanism teaches the lie that this is OK. Modern day Christianity has embraced this false doctrine of greasy grace and tells the person that they have no choice and will keep on sinning and that they have no control over that. But the Bible states that the true believer is a new creature no longer enslaved to sin and is a saint who is a servant unto righteousness.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:1-2

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Romans 6:17-22

Do you claim to know God but continue to make excuses for your sin? If so then you really do not know Him like you think you do and you may not be saved. The Bible warns us of this.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17:3

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. John 15:14

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

If you claim to know God and that you are saved from your sin but you continue to serve sin you should know that we cannot serve two masters. If you are willingly living in sin then your master is sin, not God.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24

I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isaiah 42:8

If you claim to know Him then you ought to know better than to keep on sinning.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

If you know Him and have been saved from your sins then you are free indeed. You do not have to keep on living in your sin but instead you can live a holy life that is pleasing to God.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:2

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Romans 6:22
