Break up that fallow ground!

We must break up the fallow ground, avoid thorns, and build and plant only in the good ground of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Hosea 10:12. Webster’s 1828: FAL'LOW, adjective [Latin fulvus; qu. helvus, for felvus. This word may be from the root of fail, fallo; so called from the fading color of autumnal leaves, or

Was that thorn in Paul's flesh sin?

First, here is the verse that many people who believe in greasy grace point to in trying to justify their own sin by claiming that Paul also struggled with sin. The mindset they have is, "if Paul sinned then I'm OK in my own sin". And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 2 Corinthians 12:7 Now verses 7 through

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Do you sin every day in every thought, word and deed? Then you are the one who hath no rule over your own spirit. He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Proverbs 25:28 Do you claim that you are not able to not sin every day? Then you are admitting by your own words that you are not walking after the Spirit. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. [17] For the flesh lust

Cherry-picking is deadly...

The faith mentioned in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8 is dead unless it is qualified by good works. Many people fail to get the full and correct context of both verses 8 and 9 when they float these verses by themselves. They do this by excluding verse 10. Their cherry-picking produces a dead gospel due to their dead thinking through their dead faith. Cherry-picking will ultimately kill those who insist on doing so come judgement day. Faith cannot be claimed as being alive based

Carnal in Corinth. But we're they safe?

Were the carnal (sinners) in Corinth saved? Well, yes and no. I will explain by using all of Paul's letter to the Church in Corinth. First we need to define carnal. CARNAL, adjective. Pertaining to flesh; fleshly; sensual; opposed to spiritual; as carnal pleasure. Lecherous; lustful; libidinous; given to sensual indulgence. Paul gives a definitive description between the flesh (carnal, living in sin) versus the spiritual (those who are in Christ Jesus) in Romans chapter 8 v

Stop pretending the cup is clean throughout!

Jesus clearly taught that sin starts in the mind which is a matter of the spirit. This is well before sin becomes a matter of the flesh. No flesh has ever committed sin without a carnal mind to start with. Flesh does not commit sin, the person does, and they do so from within first. Doctrines such as OSAS and Original Sin attempt to justify the outside of the cup while the inside is still wretched. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and w

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke...

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke... Those of the "I can't help but sin" crowd, the OSAS, Augustinian-gnostic-"born-a-sinner" folks, if you were honest with your "your gonna sin so just go on with it" doctrines then you would actually heckle and even correct Paul, the very one you claim supports your warped presuppositions, if he were to engage with you on this topic. Whenever anyone says it is possible to go on without sinning a lot

Born again and then die again? What is this nonsense?

OSASers tend to use this as a concept to mock the biblical fact, that one can indeed die again, in the spiritual sense, just as they can be born again. They think that Nicodemus’ questions to Jesus in John chapter 3 verse 4 regarding Jesus’ comment that you must be born again (verses 3 and 7) and then Jesus’ response back somehow qualifies becoming “unborn” as being impossible and illogical. This thinking really is a logically fallacious shell game of concepts… Nicodemus was we have liberty as Christians to participate?

God judges the intentions of our hearts based on what we have understanding or knowledge of regarding His character. If I participate in situations or events that are associated with evil things, then I know I am sinning due to the conviction that His Spirit has placed in my heart of understanding. The Bible is filled with example after example of things that we ought to avoid due to conflicts with His Spirit. We may have liberty yes, but obviously some liberties can be taken

Stop defending sin and if you are currently sinning then stop sinning.

Don’t be a fool. Read this to the end before you jump to any presupposed conclusions. He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. Proverbs 18:13 Stop defending sin and if you are currently sinning then stop sinning. You were purged of your old sins but if you do not make your calling and election sure through obedience to God you will fall. Obedience to God does not include sinning. If you have sinned then confess it to God and repent so a should follow his steps: Who did no sin...

This is for those who aspire to be real men. Real men love Jesus. God created us in His image. The only way to conform to His image as per His original design is to know, love, obey and serve Jesus who literally showed us how to do so through His own life and death. Then and only then can we be like Him. Then and only then can we be real men. Real men are not spiritually dead. Real men follow in His steps and do not sin. Real men love love Jesus and truly follow Him. sh

Take heed, brethren!!!

...It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God... When one identifies sin they need to immediately repent. They should not look for excuses to continue on in the sin. We should know that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God and that He can destroy both body and soul in hell and we should know that hell is very real. Knowing these facts should help us to not take the grace of God lightly or out of context. Take heed, brethren, le

Yes it does matter…

Servetus was murdered on 10/271553. Calvin wrote the following after the murder in early 1554 in defense of his role in the murder: “Whoever shall now contend that it is unjust to put heretics and blasphemers to death will knowingly and willingly incur their very guilt. This is not laid down on human authority; it is God who speaks and prescribes a perpetual rule for his Church. It is not in vain that he banishes all those human affections which soften our hearts; that he com

Some serious questions here…

Does one have to die physically to be freed from sin? Does one have to die physically to be holy and live without sinning? Does one have to die physically to be a new creature? Does one have to die physically to not sin? The answer to all the above is no. One does not have die physically but he does have to die to sin. Only then can he, with God’s Spirit, live holy and apart from sin. Do not fall for the lies that come from the humanist and going further back, the gnostic, wo

There are many foolish tares in the church today.

The tares are those who believe that they are saved in their sins by the blood that Jesus shed on cross. They try to claim that they are saved from their sins yet they continue to walk in them. This is the epitome of foolishness. Those that do this, and they are many, are perishing despite their beliefs to the contrary. This is the most dangerous condition anyone can find themselves in. The cross is preached foolishly today and especially every Sunday mornings and evenings a

Can you really not sin?

Many folks today insist that sinning is inevitable and pretty much unavoidable. They are convinced that a believer cannot go on without sinning. They believe that even when living in unrepentant, wilful sin, that God will still present that person faultless before Him. After all God's word literally says that He is able "to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" in Jude 1:24. But wait, there is more to this. Something is being left out. I

Have you ever trembled before God?

Why am I opposed to the modern gospel? Because it does not cause a soul living in sin to tremble in front of the living, great, mighty and terrible God! If you believe you are justified in your sin by God's grace then you are deceived. If you believe that God saved you in your sin and not from your sin then you are under a great delusion! Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. [17] For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lor

Grave reminders...

Here are a few grave reminders we must not underestimate... Pun intended and oh so relevant... For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two ha

Are we blaming God for sin committed by men?

We cannot pin the blame of sin on God. God does not control nor dictate evil actions by sinners in every instance as some claim. There are some apparent exceptions such as Pharaoh during Moses' time and Babylon. These evil hearts were already bent towards doing evil. They were merely encouraged in a certain direction to satisfy jobs that God wanted done. God does not create sin but instead it is something the sinner choses to do on their own. God actually steps aside and let'

The winds, sea and unclean spirits can do this, then why is this so hard for those who claim to love

But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! Matthew 8:27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. Mark 1:27 If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.. John 15:14 obey is better than sacri
